OFFSIDE

For many years, there has been “no offside” for Group II. This “no offside” rule was intended to
simplify the game and avoid dealing with a somewhat complicated rule with young players. However, in
recent years, some coaches have taken advantage of the “no offside” rule by positioning an offensive
player directly in front of an opponent’s goal in what would normally be an offside position. This is not
longer allowed.

“The offensive team may not position a player closer to an opponent’s goal than the second to last defender or the ball. The penalty will be an indirect kick”
